    New Hammock Sock

I made this today from that dwr or whatever you call it that I got from the $1 bin in Wal Mart. It was a easy as making a rectangle slightly larger than the Speer Snugfit Quilt, about 12 inches wider and longer. Hem the edges and put in draw cords and loop attachment loops on each end. Attach the basic JRB type support as if it was a quilt and tighten the ends. add velcro identical to the Speer Snugfit. Velcro had already been added to the Claytor to match the Speer model Snugfit.
Crawl in and close the velcro as far as you like. The velcro is for closing, not for attaching to the hammock or Snugfit.
Making this stuff is a blast. Mule

Sock looks good. Are you planning on bringing it this weekend? I've been trying to come up with a way to make a sock for my netless HH - I think this would work.
Look forward to meeting you this weekend. There are plenty of trees - Bring all your new toys!

looks nice Steve. How much fabric and how heavy?

Also, wondered if you'd mind popping over my way and have a go at my garage. I can't hang in there because there are stage props from a high school play in the way...maybe what I'm needing here a burglery

Looks good. You will love the extra warmth!

    Looks good!

One thing you need to be careful with is compressing the insulation in the underquilt overnight with the hammock sock pressing against your underquilt. You know to check for that once you get in the hammock but that check may not be the end of that. The hammock fabric itself may slowly stretch overnight. My 1.9 oz rip stop nylon hammock fabric stretches and if you end up closer to the ground in the mornings than you were in the evening, something stretched with the hammock fabric, the hammock suspension, and/or the supports bent.

Overnight stretch in the hammock fabric can cause issues if things aren't designed to deal with it. And it can be aggravating when it does because of the way you sometimes find out about it... you sometimes find out by waking up with a cold spot in the middle of a cold night.

Looks great Steve. You are swiftly becoming a DIY addict.
