Integrating Guardian Bug Netting

I have skimmed through the posts in this section and havent found anything specific to the topic of integrating the Gaurdian Bug Netting into an ENO double nest similar to a WBBB style.

Looking to see if anyone has done this? If you have please if you could answer a few questions.

1. Does it work or would it be easier to simply buy some no-see-um netting and a 100" zipper.

2. If you have done it were you able to use the vertical zipper, and how functional was it.

3. can you post some pics or instructions.

I am looking to get ready for next years hangs and have already done some extensive modifying of the one-link system I originally bought. This is the last pc of kit from the original product other than the hammock its self (whick I love, just wish I hadnt bought the rest of it).

P.S. can anyone direct me to a good Bishop Sack template.

So after a 142 views of this thread and no reply's I was beginning to think I was a mad man and no one was polite enough to call me on it

All joking aside I have gone forward with my project to attach bug netting to my eno double nest. Here are some of the initial pics. I'm still waiting on a zipper to arrive before finishing but here are some pics to show my project.

Will post more as the project is completed. Please critique.

We placed the netting over my adjustable ridgeline with each end sowed tight to the ridgeline at either end. Still allows the ridgeline to expand or contract without affecting the bug netting.

My only "critique" is that it seems like an expensive route to a bug net.

And a question: how is this going to work with those famous ENO floppy edges? Will the ridge line/ netting pull them up, or...?

Perhaps sew in some tie outs? looking at your pic it appears the
extra material + bugnet = claustrophobia

I don't really find it to be any more closed in than the gaurdian bug netting. Those floppy sides are sorta in the way no matter what you do. . Having the netting this way makes for an easier slicker setup. No more crawling inside to Hang the UQ or worring about the sinch downs at either end working themselves loose during the night.

what I am struggling with is how to orient the zipper and what size to make it. Should I do the zipper in a half moon shape or should I make it the whole or atleast most of the whole one side?

I vote for one continuous zipper down one side of the hammock. Like the Hennessy Hammocks and others have.

I would just say be careful, cause I have had mosquitoes bite through the bottom of my single nest. YMMV

Interesting mod. I use this same setup currently (double + Guardian) and have been looking at other options. A big deal for me is the weight of the Guardian. Do you have the weight of the chopped Guardian? That could be a deciding factor for me.

On the zipper, I'd do it in a way that allowed it to be flipped over the top or attached to the ridgeline ala a Switchback. Top reason for an add-on net over an attached is for the no-net option. If you could sort of keep that you'd have your cake and eat it too!

Not too worried about the bugs biting me but thats just cause I have an interesting/unique resistance to them. Ask Dant8ro Mosquito's dont affect me. No bump no rash no itching , plus I'll have an underquilt on most of the time.
