    Ix Hammock Sock with SEEP

I am going to order an Ix Hammock Sock with the SEEP ( side eatery ).. I hope that MacEntyre will figure out to customize it to fit both my Blackbird and Switchback hammocks. Does anyone else have experience with the Ix hammock sock made by MacEntyre . I already have a homemade Hammock Sock and I think that MacEntyre's is superior in construction and concept.

The 5 in 1 Jerry Chair from MacEntyre was a very versatile chair to sit and rest in and underquilt to sleep with.. It came with an extra four added layers of insultex which can help take it down to temperatures of around twenties.

I think that the Hammock Sock is an original approach to stay warm in the winter and stay dry in the rainy conditions of early spring and the fogs of late autumn.

If any of you have stories or advice about using Hammock Socks please tell them.

+1 on the MacIX hammock sock...it is a weight penalty of around 15.5 ounces but will add 10-15F to your rig-YMMV and if used under a tarp with doors taken to the ground you might even get 20F more.
If I had to do it over again I'd get the hammock sock without IX but that is because I've got 3 of his IX UQs and could more easily use it throughout the year, but in the heat of S.Carolina I used it at the Goat Island Hang with no problems-I just don't get hot (wearing wool top and bottom even here now in the hospital as I work).
The SEEP is just too cool and Mac did a renovation on mine to accomodate my hammocks fit pattern.
I also use the Unsponsored Sock from the U.K. and carry it when milligrams are to count since it is half the weight of the MacIX sock.
Another thing I discovered....my MacIX sock is black and once I slept in because I thought it was still dark out

It's a good bit lighter now... eliminating grosgrain binding brought it down to something like 12 oz.

Most people should see about 20*F improvement from the IX, plus about 10*F improvement just from using a sock. However, as MMan said, YMMV.

Perhaps Doctari will check in with his experience using the IX Hammock Sock without SEEP and with the BBO. That configuration allows you to use the tie outs. Of course, you can use the IX Hammock Sock with SEEP on a hammock with tie outs, if you don't use the tie outs.

I will probably use the Hammock Sock with my Traveler Hammock. That way I will not need openings for the tie outs. For me there is not much difference between a BlackBird Hammock or a Traveler anyway.
