Howdy-Do from Pennsylvania

Hi All...

I'm a complete hammock noob. I picked up a new HH Explorer Deluxe a couple months ago and have only had it out for one test hang. Since then, however, I have been scouring the site for tips, tricks, and ways to further lighten my wallet. Y'all have been a tremendous help at all three of those things.

Thanks for all the great information. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute some experiences of my own soon.

Interesting. I have never seen a hammocker (if that is a word) in my travels in PA.

Now to show how naive I was - I thought I'd buy a hammock, use my other gear, and be done. Little did I know there where UQs, TQs, SPEs, and a whole world of other acronyms that I need. Ahhh, Ignorance was bliss...

Not sure where you are in PA; but, you may want to freeze your butt off and learn some tricks with the group Feb. 18-19-20 in NW PA.

Don't worry too much about gear. If you can make the adventure above, post there and ask. You will learn that the HF folks are the BEST and always have extra gear they can bring for you. My fav cold weather acronym is DAM!
