Blackout. Send the pics to my phone directly if you want to and I will upload them right to here.

Not that the beer didn't look good. I would love to see some of the scenery up there and not just of some beer and your room LOL.

Shoot me a PM and I will send you my phone #

Well, OK then, here are some questions: how is it working for you?

Is condensation hounding you, are you staying dry?

Are you using the top cover, and does it help keep warmth in and block the wind?

In what ways are you augmenting it (beyond 1 pad, space blanket and undercover) to stay warm in the Alaska cold?

Wasn't it last winter you started this thread/started using a HHSS in Alaska? And now you are near the end of Dec for your 2nd winter, so if you have been using that Super Shelter a lot during all of that, I figure that will make you the resident HF expert, with by far the most experience, on how to use that system in the real cold, or even moderate cold by our standards when you camp in summer/fall. So lay that experience on us! We want to know how you have done!

ya i started this thread last winter
my current set up is the stock ss with a space blanket and i have a underquilt on the outside of the ss
for summer and most of fall i used the stock ss and was even hot on some night

i do have some condensation issues without the space blanket but really i think it was more sweat then anything. right now i have been noticing frost building up on the inside of my overcover near my head
i do have a thermarest pad on stand by if i do need it

and the the reason the ss is so effective in cold weather is the overcover, it keeps out wind and makes the whole hammock a lot warmer. the undercover isnt as good as an underquilt is but it does have it advantages over any uq. one its wind proof and will work with the stock tarp saving weight and stress of having to deal with a larger tarp.
what i really like about the ss is its speddy set up. i use the snake skins and the whole stock ss fits perfect. so its pretty much tie both ends to some trees and pull back the snake skins and stake out the tarp.
also the ss works great on the ground if you dont have any trees or its just to windy

That's impressive blackout. Certainly a testimonial to the Super Shelter system as well as your determination.

I'm amazed that condensation hasn't been a problem since I believe your in a very damp area. But of course glad it's working out.
