I've been using the welded rings for months with no problems. I guess I'll be switching them out this weekend, before the paranoia sets in.

I wonder if it's the fact that there are two rings on each end that spread the load that has kept them from breaking. I'll leave that analysis to you Grizz.

hey, TeeDee the master analyst is back. Now that we've all digested Articles 1-7, number 8 can do strength analysis of rings, buckles, snaps, tie-outs, double stitched threads, ....

Are aneurysms painful? I'm just wondering cause I think I may be developing one and I'm still on article 4!

If it's the latter, they are there you may just not be looking in the right place. I've bought 2 sets from Home Depot.

I would go to Lowes/Home Depot if they possess a ring or cinch buckle that is STRONG enough... I just wanted to see if anyone else had gotten strong hardware from these places. I just wanted to make sure the trouble was worth it.

There are titanium rings for my thru in my Xmas stocking this year. I've got spies @ the North Pole.

the failure mode of the welded rings would be a fatigue crack at the welde and then slowly bent open. you should be able to see if happenening long before it drops you.
