Want to go light as possible...
My hammock/sleep gear/tarp setup will be....
MYOG hammock for 6-3/225#.
I need to know what you guys think will hold up for 6 months.
Right now I have two gathered end hammocks.
One single layer 1.65 oz 4'6 x 10' that weighs about 8 oz and a single layer 3 oz 5' x 10' that weighs about 18 oz.
Would a 1.9 oz single layer hold up for 6 months ??
How about a double layer 1.1 oz hammock ??
Have an 8 oz suspension for either which is 1200# 12' straps, 2 decender rings each end and and blue amsteel to the hammock with a larks head.
Will have a MYOG open bottom bug net with elastic in the bottom to grip the hammock. I will Perithrin the hammock.
Under insulation will be a
half CCF pad
3/4 down 3" UQ ??
XS prolite pad. Want to carry the XS prolite mostly just in case I end up on the ground or the underquilt wets out, lounging around etc.
Also will carry a tyvek sock that can be used as a hammock sock, as an undersheild or garlington shell or as a bivy on the ground. Used as a sock it would be gathered on the ends.
Top insul for now is a golite ultra 20.
I slept in it last year at 14dF under a hammock in tent mode, but I think that is about the limit without a topper or a hammock sock of some sort.
Probably will carry a large Cuben tarp I can use in tent mode..
Will be carrying some insul clothing that I could probably extend the quilt 10-15dF.
Thanks in advance.
