Guttermanns thread 50% off at JoAnn

Just stocked up on Guttermanns thread bc it's half off at the JoAnn store here. Got several spools of black, two shades of gray to match the sil/DWR/ripstop that I got from MallWart, and some olive drab since that's my favorite gear color. (My new hammock sock that I made a few days ago is OD.)

If you have a JoAnn store near you, it may be worth a trip! This stuff is spendy, but friends don't let friends use Coats and Clark. I thought my injector was broken once bc I couldn't sew more than a few inches without the thread breaking, but all I had to do was change thread to Guttermans.

    Thanks Jeff!

Thanks! I can arrange for the local jo-anns to be on my way home from work...not that I am out or anything, but it is hard to have too much thread- not like it will go bad or anything...

PS while you are there, check the remnant bin- sometimes they have good fleece bits for hats/pillows/stuffsacks.. or Wristies!

    Thumbs up

Thanks JJ ... stopped by the JoAnn's when I went to lunch with the wife. She also had a coupon or something that gave us more off ... came out with $52 worth of G Thread for around $16 ... a very good haul! Even with the price of lunch ... I came out ahead and I'm fixed for thread for quite a few more projects!

discovered while I was there that most types of the fleece are also 50% off, making the remnants half of half, or only 25% of the marked price! yay!

Just loaded up on 4 spools of black, 2 olive drab,1 brighter olives, and 2 silver, and got the lady a set of thread, needles and scissors for christmas. Thanks for the head up Jeff.

Are you guys using regular 100% polyester thread, or are you using the extra strong kind. I got a little of both and wasn't to sure. Also do you know how the nylon stuff works?

100% poly has worked best for me ... not sure what blend you're referring too

That's it hawk eye, one is simply 100% polyester thread and the other is extra strong 100% polyester thread I believe. I assume its just a tiny bit thicker. Doesn't feel to thick though. I've just been curious if you guys use some super special heavy duty type stuff or just plain 100% poly.
