    you could unwhip it, and cut it 4-5 inches down from the edge, completly cutting the hammock body in 2 and then insert another full length zipper, just like the one that's already there, it would be a second entrance/exit. would be harder on a double layer, but i don't see why it couldn't be done

    that was my understanding of the OP's original concerns. this has sparked a thought about adding a small pull tab at the footbox, so i can guy it out with a stake. im interested to see what improvements that may offer, if any.
