Due to snow (really a dusting followed by freezing rain) I didn't have to go to school today. Coincidentally, my brand new Snowpeak 700 arrived today. I decided to have some fun in the backyard.

I set up the tarp and hammock, and I attached the underquilt.

My suspension is a little bit different because I have an odd hammock (but it was free, so hey). I take the marlin-spike hitch from a whoopie sling suspension, and put the loop of the hammock in it. Since my toggle is a curved object, I clip it around the hammock itself so that if the loop slips, it forms a larks head knot.

Also, the suspension on my underquilt is short, so until I develop the initiative to lengthen it, I just make a loop out of my excess suspension and use that as a lengthener.

I set up the stove (Vargo Triad XE) with my Snowpeak 700 for some hot chocolate. I used about a half of a cup of water, and it boiled in five minutes without a windscreen.

It was delicious.

All in all, a wonderful way to spend a snow day.
