    Blackbirds and Incubators

Just after views from anyone who has this combination. with the BB footbox, how does that affect the footbox area of the BB when you're in it? does the incubator stay in the right position and when your feet are in the footbox, does it put stress on the incubator and either move its position or compress the down?

I have a WBBB 1.1 dbl and an Winter Incubator 900 w/2oz overfill. Was out last weekend high 20's (no test) and it is a fine combination. I have not got it completely dialed in yet but no CBS so far (low teens). I shortend up the shock cord on the WI and put a shock cord up over the ridge at about the knees to hold the WI up against the hammock. Mine does shift to the right (foot box side), but reaching out to reposition it is quite easy.

I have both the winter and 3S that I use on my BB. You have to really must pull the shock cords tight, especially on the WI. I just pulled mine and tied them off rather than shortening them. I was thinking about sewing some loops on the BB, matching the location of the ones on the incubators to clip together so it could not shift in the night

I likey the idea of loops, possibly with just a small shock cord loop connecting them to have a little "give" if needed.

I have the 3 Season Incubator and it's a fine combination with the WBBB. Once I get into the hammock I give it a little tug on the right side where the foot box is to make sure the quilt is in place. A piece of shock cord over the RL is helpful in keeping out CB and it tight against your back. The incubator is a might fine quilt, here's a picture of mine

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I agree with everything previously aid. Pull the shock cord very tight, I also do an extra shock cord over the knee area (the loops on the quilt are already there so it is an easy mod), shifts right but can be fixed without even unzipping my hammock. I use the 3S incubator no overstuff had it down to 16*F and I was at my threshold without adding to the system. I love my UQ! Doesn't effect the footbox at all.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping that a set of triangle thingies will also help. Does anyone have any experience of them with this specific setup?

I've tried them, and for me, they don't do anything an adjustable length of shock cord across the ridge line won't do.
