Heh. Just saw this, only 6 weeks late! I love Lynches Woods, neat little place. Let me know if you ever give this another whirl.

I have never been to that park. Any pics of it? Do a lot of people go there? Which camp site did you stay at?

I have been several times since I found out about it last summer. It has never been very busy. There are always a few people walking the roads and stuff, but it is pretty quiet. As far as I am aware, it only has the one camping area, and that is nice and primitive. I haven't overnighted there yet, but I think it would be a nice getaway.

Usually for overnights or long hikes, I go to Sumter NF, just down the road a little ways. It is pretty darn nice.

Well, I say "dang" too! I was out with a group of friends the following weekend on the Palmetto Trail just south and east of Lynches Woods, the Pomaria to Peak section. I used to live in Newberry and would walk the trails through there as rehab coming off of ACL surgery. I don't have any pics to share of it but as I remember, there's quite a distance of trails on this plot of land considering the amount of land that it is on. Also have to share some trails with Mtn bikes.
