Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
Rigidpsycho: I'm sad to hear that you can't make it, but glad your job is working out. I'm sure we'll meet up again soon....

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

Yep, that was me. I STILL haven't uploaded the rest of the pictures from that trip. :P
I would definitely like to check out that area a little more and see if there's any more interesting stuff down in that hollow. Plus, I'd like to pay a little more attention on the way down and see if I can get a more definite idea of where it is on the map. Count me in if there's going to be a group heading down there for a little day hike.

Now I'm pretty confident about finding the S Nebo trailhead & hiking in from that direction.
The maps on post # 52 are very helpful, Bonsaihiker.
When I get to where the trail parallels Berry Rd, is the turnoff to SE end of Brown Hollow: a trail, old roadbed, just flagged, or on my own bushwhacking it?
I hope to get to the S trailhead mid-late Fri a.m. If anyone else has similar aspirations, PM me & we can make arrangements to meet up & hike in together.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

May not be allowed..."Metal detecting is allowed only in developed recreation areas for items having no historical value. Only surface collecting is allowed (no digging) , except at designated beaches where it is permissible to sift through the sand for modern items. *".

As I recall from last year:
If you continue down the trail after it makes a sharp turn away from the road you will see an old roadbed leading back towards Berry road. If you follow this it will turn into a trail and if you soon find yourself headed steeply downhill you will know you are on the right path.
I believe there was also a small path leading straight ahead from where the trail takes this sharp turn away from the road, but I think it was clearer to proceed on down the trail and look for the road to the right and leading back towards the road. At the only real intersection turn left and you should begin downhill soon after.
Hopefully someone else will pipe in and confirm my memory.
