    Backpacking punch list

Was wondering if anybody has a backpacking punch list they would be willing to share? I am always winging it before I leave and would feel much better with a checklist.

    Thanks,
    Brian

From Lord Robert Baden-Powell's Handbook for Boys (my grandpa's scout handbook):

    1. Some shelter
    2. Some effective insect protection
    3. A sleeping bag or roll of blankets
    4. A poncho
    5. A pack
    6. Cooking gear
    7. Minor equipment and personal items
I modified it for modern usage:

    1. Hammock, tarp, and suspension
    Byer Traveller Hammock
    Kelty Noah 9
    6 assorted stakes
    Mule tape and Biners
    2. Bug spray
When it will be buggy I bring my Clark with integrated bug net
    3. TQ and UQ
    Summer
    Fleece Sleeping bag Liner TQ
    DIY PLUQ
    3-Season
Moonstone Delta Minima 20* Sleeping Bag as TQ
PLUQ Supplemented with Pads (looking to make a mixture Climashield/Insultex UQ)
    Winter
Moonstone Delta Minima with Fleece Liner
    Winter Yeti UQ
    4. JRB Dri-Ducks Poncho
    5. Golite Intuition 3500
    6. Wood Stove/ Alcohol Stove Combo
    DIY Wood Stove
    Vargo Triad XE Alcohol Stove
    Alcohol Fuel
    Snowpeak 700 Pot (brand new)
    LightMyFire Spork
Plastic Mug (got it at Scout camp and used it ever since)
    Assorted Packtowels and Bandanas
    7. Divided into Ditty Bag and Clothes Bag
Ditty Bag (two small bags in pack and one bag on shoulder strap)
    Fiskar Saw
    Matches
    Leatherman Kick w/ Firesteel Attached
    Monocular
    Compass
    Aquamira Tablets
    Aloe Vera Gel
    Ace Bandage
    Toothbrush/Toothpaste
    Mirror
    Clothes
    Usually two/three pairs extra socks
    Base Layers
    Softshell Jacket
    Extra Shirt
In the winter, I'll bring more clothes.

As far as food, I bring 1.5-2 lbs of food per day. I have two water bottles: a 1L Aquafina bottle and a 32oz Nalgene.

I'm sure I forgot some of the items in the ditty bags, but it should be a fairly comprehensive list.

I find it wise to bring some first aid.
