Thanks pretty sure I know where that might be ... and no chain saws allowed in The Big Ditch! So should be a challenge!

I thought you'd know the spot, it's really the only place on the trail where you walk down a rock bed for a good 50 feet. The way it fell sucks...straight down the trail right in the bench, covering a good 40+ feet of trail. It's an old dead pine or hemlock. I don't know if you guys ever use a two man saw but you might need that. Maybe if you cut the branches on the downward side you could roll it off with a few rock bars but it's big.

I've been hiking The Gorge a lot this Fall and Winter, say every other weekend. It's always amazing how much the downfall adds up. If I can move stuff as I hike I do. I'm going to make a habit of carrying a Sven folding saw in there, help you guys out a little bit with the smaller stuff while I hike. I maintain a mountain bike trail here in Gaston County and that can be challenging enough, but The Gorge is a real beast. Thanks for keeping it clean!

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.

not bad. Icy in spots. I threw it in 4wd when I got sorta close to the trail head. I was actually expecting the driving part of the trip to be a lot worse.

    Those are some beautiful pics.
The gorge is on my short list.
He is your friend, your companion, your defender... he is your dog. You are his life, his leader, and master. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of that devotion.
