Can a moderator please delete this thread? I've told my wife that hammocks and quilts are disposable and must be replaced after they are soiled. This talk of "cleaning" is interfering with my ploy.
I have tossed my "ENO clone" into the laundry with no probs- wash in cold, dry on regular, left the suspension off to avoid tangles..your mileage might accumulate quicker than mine, though...
I'm the same. I hand wash my ENO Dn and hang to dry. Not in the sun.

Funky is a polite term, the real description cant come close to being ok for a family site like this.
IT WORKS a big +1
Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night
Something that works just as well is common vinegar. Hand wash it and then after rinsing, fill the sink or whatever your washing it in with plain cold water and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Let it sit in it for up to 5 minutes and then rinse again in clear water.
I do this all the time with my wet suit, booties, dry top, and gloves that I use kayaking. Keeps the funk out of your stuff.

Our washing machine (a newer top loading HE model) has a "hand wash" setting that is actually very gentle. I use it to wash any of my wool clothes or camping gear. After a leak in the ceiling doused my GT Ultralight I washed it in the machine on the hand wash cycle and tumble dried it on air dry. Came out really nice, actually nicer than it was before the wash since the tumbling softened it up a bit.
Failing that, I'd just hand wash it with some gentle soap and line dry.
