    do you smell that smell?

    As a newbie I just happened to wonder what ya'll do when your hammock get's all grimy and smelly after many many uses? can't really throw it in the washing machine right? so how do you clean a dirty hammock?

    There are enzyme cleaners (I got some at the outfitter in Daleville) that are supposed to eat up all those odors.

    You can put it in a mesh laundry bag and it would probably do well.

    Hand washing with a mild detergent is best, though.

    I have washed 2Q's Hennessy in a front loader on gentle & hung to dry....it came out great. ZQ

    I'd take off the suspension, put in a mesh bag, and launder with a bit of soap. I haven't done that yet after 3-4 years tho, since I pack along a base layer and spare pair of clean socks to sleep in so the quilt and hammock stay clean.

    Like Jeff says, I hand wash just the bottom layers of my BB in a bucket with some natural soap flakes
