I am slowly putting my shelter together for a long distance bike trip. I plan on putting together a hammock once all the supplies finally get here. I don't want to make my own tarp unless there isn't already one out there that will work for me.
- Weight is nowhere near the issue it is for me as for the light hikers.
- I want a tarp bigger than normal to provide some protection for my bike and related things.
- Stealth camping is a consideration for sure.
- I'd like to keep the cost down, but that never seems to happen.
There is always the possibility for some creative solution like a separate tarp to provide a little protection to the big. The tarps that seem to be around that struck me as possibilities were the Sportsmans Guide 12x12, and the HH Hex cheap and heavy version. There are some cat tarps out there, but they seem to be all in a different league of price. Any better ideas?
a large black trash bag might work...
