Neos for hiking---yes IF your inner shoe fits tight enough inside....and they are designed for an inner shoe/boot size wise and with the strap can accomodate some discrepancy. Honestly I've never used them to actually hike in....the other pair I use---the really tall tan ones, I've used paddle camping-great for getting in and out of cold water 'cause they go up to the knee.
You let me know how they do when hiking.

The ones I ordered have the spikes, are 15" tall, insulated and have an extra 5" gaiter beyond the 15" top. I'm going to try them with trail runners first, then work my way up into heavier boots as needed. I had to order the XXL. I'm figuring those boots will work well with my down booties in camp also.
If the XXL size is big enough,I may not need snowshoes!
