Ranger Holland. As Bonsihiker said, you truly have gone the extra mile to take care of these park visitors. We are grateful.

And yeah, I think the lantern might find a useful place there.

How about those tarps? Do a couple folks already have tarps that might fit the bill?
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I got one 16" x 12" already planned on bringing it, wasn't sure why, now I know.

    A few thoughts...
Having a square nose shovel & maybe a tow rope/chain in your vehicle might be nice things to have in case you get off into deep snow. Maybe a 5 gal bucket of sand if you got room.

I also have thought about bringing a cooler that would serve as a "No Freeze Zone" by putting a bottle of hot water in it.

And if no one else is already planning to, I may bring a really big pot w/ lid (9" tall, 13" wide) to keep on the edge of the fire to provide ready hot water for anyone that needs it.

GREAT Ideas. Plus, a set of GOOD jumper cables (not the $4.99 ones from the local Quikie mart.)

+1 - I'll use a bag of Kitty Litter instead of sand. Also bringing a 5/16" Amsteel winch rope, a big come-along (ratchet hoist) and a 20' logging chain. I don't expect to use any of these items, but they'll help keep my fingers relaxed and my steering wheel smooth. Oh yeah - also a snow shovel.

Well, I"m packed. Got too much stuff as usual, but at least I don't have to lug it 1.5 miles this time. At 0645 tomorrow I leave for a 16 hr shift @ work, grab a nap & leave for the promised land. I MAY get to a puter for a few minutes before work, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm on my way to VA.

I'm a little concerned that I couldn't find snowmen repellent But I'm bringing an extra Bic lighter just in case I'm attacked, so I think I'll be OK.

    See ya all there!!

I'm hoping that's new kitty litter!

Wunderground says Troutdale is at 4000' but it looks to me like it is more like 1300'.
If it is 1300' then it's 11*F warmer than our campground, which is at 4600'.
(Temps drop 1*F for 300' gain in altitude.)

We'll be getting there along with a cold front that will end this week's warmup.
The forecast, adjusted by 11*F for the campground elevation, looks like this:

Wed Hi 24 Lo 11 Snow
    Thur Hi 33 Lo 9 Rain/Snow
Fri Hi 13 Lo -2 Snow
Sat Hi 15 Lo 4 Clear
