Pretty sure my neighbors think I'm crazy...

Because since my hammock is new, I just HAD to try it out...so it and the tarp are hanging from the column on my front porch to the tree in my front yard. Pretty sure I'll be sleeping out there tonight too.

your not alone. i used to run to the front yard and set up my hammock with mittens on when it started raining with a stopwatch. 90 degrees with mittens just gave them one more reason to think (know) i'm crazy. kayaking in the winter was another reason.

I'm a winter paddler too. It's so calm on the water that time of year. Plus there's a Corps of Engineers lake about 3 minutes from my front door. I paddle out to the islands and camp whenever I just need to get out. Quick trips are the best.

My girlfriend, family, and all my friends think I'm offcially crazy cause all I talk about is backpacking and hammocking. In fact, I think my girlfriend is getting obviously angry about it. Kind of sad for the both of us.

    You're not alone.

Yep, My wife said the same thing. I told her, "good, keeps them on edge and keeps them from asking to borrow things, LIKE MY TOOLS!!!!!". I like to keep them about half scared of me

Yep, you're in good company around here.

My last place was a townhome with LOTS of neighbors. I'm pretty sure they had some kind of community meeting about me. Two grown-ups, and 5 kids now sleep in hammocks when they go camping.

Score one for the wierdos of the world.
