A 'Janome' hammock/tarp making machine...
They haven't arrived yet, but I went for the HH Christmas deal and picked up a new Explorer and Scout with Snake Skins. I opted for the larger hex tarp for the Explorer this time. I have the normal tarp for my Expedition so I thought I would see what the Hex is like. Pretty stoked!
I also got the Super Shelter for the Explorer and I am hoping to head out on my first winter hang this weekend in the good ol' Wasatch Mountains of Utah! Woohoo!

Pretty sweet Christmas

Can't complain: zing-it, amsteel, Dutch clips, poncho, socks, liner gloves and mittens, rain mitts and digital camera. The big black cat is happy because he and the big orange cat get to split every bit of dark meat from the Christmas turkey.
ok, just got back from trying it out. The hammock is comfortable, but I am not sure that I really care for the rest of the system. The straps dont seem to have enough fine tuning ability. I am thinking of sending it back, and getting something different. i have been doing a lot of reading here, and am leaning towards the blackbird, but not sure. I am sure with time and practice i will get more efficient at getting it hung, but watching shrugs videos last night made me rethink the system while I was out setting this up.

If I were you at minimum I'd ditch the Slap-Straps, I have a set I used several times and the longer I used them the less I liked them. I'd be looking into a whoopie sling setup. The rest of the system doesn't look too bad but of course it's up to you if you like it.
Don't dispair. The ENO may be the right hammock for you, but you'll need different suspension to really get the most out of it. Ditch the Slap Straps. They're way too stretchy, and don't offer any way to fine tune your hang. Try some new webbing & buckles from AHE or some whoopie slings. This may be the answer to Christmas hammock love.

Santa brought me a "Hunters" Ceramic Knife. Cuts Amsteel like butter....
