Well as luck would have it, this morning at Publix the andouille sausage was on sale. We are going to have one hearty chicken and sausage gumbo come Saturday! I think all the shopping is done, just need to finish the packing.
Still waiting for those two cheapo sleeping bags. Tracking has them arriving today though!
Can't wait to meet and hang with all of you!
Normally our meals are much simpler because we rarely car camp. On future trips I doubt the fare will be as all out as this from me. I got excited..first hang and all...
Don't forget to bring your bowl and spoon!
Me, much the same. Kayak trips I have weight to spare for some luxuries, but nothing like this.
Enjoy it while we can! This is special, 1st Annual Florida Group Hangs, are a one time deal. Next time won't be the same, 2nd Annual Florida... We're setting our standards now.
Gonna have "The Patch" to prove it!
BE AWARE
There is a order posted in reference to "FOOD LEFT OUTSIDE" all food must be inside your vehicles if at anytime the camp is unoccupied. I was told there will be officials dropping in to make sure we are in compliance and citations can and will be issued if not within compliance of the posting.
Just a "HEADS UP"
"Da BEARS You Know, like home cooking like we do
That is one of the benefits of car camping. No need to hoist the goodies out of reach of the critters.
But then, when you car camp the goodies are better!
Is there sufficient parking along side the road leading up to site? I was planning to leave cooler and food in truck bed and grab what I need from there. And will we be able to leave vehicles along the service road?
I'll be bringing my new toy (Condor Bushlore) to try out it's wood splitting properties. I'll toss an armload or two of small oak limbs from the inlaw's tree to try out. That stuff is tough to bust with an axe.
Other than this trailhead 3 miles away, is there extra parking somewhere closer? It sounds like we're going to have quite the party descending on Buck Lake? So who's driving the shuttle bus????
