I also had the idea of building a one-two layer IX quilt WITHOUT a breathable ripstop shell BUT using a SEPERATE breathable shell layer under the IX underquilt. Thoughts or ideas?
Thanks for the help. On the surface I was going to use a two layer IX underquilt with a breathable ripstop nylon layer on the outside, under the IX. I just want to make sure this is my best option. Coldest I go in hammock is 40 deg usually. I would like option to go lower, if possible... but ultra light and simple are highest priority since 40 deg plus is my usual temp range.
Thanks for the help!
