I spent a winter in Key West with my sailboat anchored near that uninhabited island. It is Christmas Tree Island and some hippies lived there at times, ferrying their kids to Key West for school each day. The island south of CTI is tank island and was uninhabited when I was there. Now it has condos on it.

I had a net hammock that I hung between the main mast and the mizzen mast some nights. What great sleep I got then, with the boat rocking slightly and a gentle breeze blowing...

It was getting my wife out of the hammock that proved to be really tough...she fell in love with the comfort of relaxing between the trees, even/especially when she used the hammock as a chair by sitting in it perpendicularly...
