the 6 inch ones are sturdy enough. they easily pull out of the ground though, so secured em by laying a log or small rock on top of them...

That's always the tradeoff with stakes - light weight and small size, or more holding power. It's the reason I carry a mix of stakes - four of the MSR Groundhogs for the corners of my tarp for holding power in serious winds, and a handful of titanium stakes for doors, blackbird tieouts, more complex tarp pitches, etc.
my honest appraisal
As mustardman said its best to carry a few different types of stakes.. I personally carry Aluminum V's for the soft-medium stuff and my Ti-Eye's for the medium to hard stuff and I have yet to find a situation were this setup doesn't work perfectly..
i wasn't trying to blow up your spot mountainfitter. i choose to leave my heavier ones that stick without assistance at home in favor of yours
Hey Wags,
I didn't think you were and agree with you. I like honesty and want every opinion there is out there. It helps to build better products.
Thanks,

I honestly do not feel like digging through 13 pages of messages... are the corkscrew ones going to be coming back in-stock sometime soon?
