    Knot For Amsteel

Can anyone tell me what the knot is that is used to join two ends of amsteel to form a short loop. There is on used on the WBBB loop which holds the buckles to the end of the Hammock. It is pulled real tight so cannot tell how it is formed.

I think Brandon uses a Fisherman's or double fisherman's knot for that, but not positive. Personally, I'd skip the knot and make a continuous loop. It's much more secure, especially since amsteel isn't the best line for holding knots. Of course, HYOH.

Late to the party but can confirm that rope experts recommend a triple fisherman's bend. Actually they suggest no knots in amsteel but the triple if you must.

    I recommend the Zeppelin Bend.

    It is easy to tie.

It has never slipped on me even when very heavily loaded.

I is far easier to untie than the single, double or triple fishermans bend which I have to cut in amsteel or anything else after heavily loaded.

Im going to agree with this guy. Amsteel is so easy to work with, once you get the hang of it ( 5 mins top) youll be makeing all sorts of crazzy loops and splices just for the hell of it..

I use the triple fisherman's bend on my Amsteel and it has held up to my dainty 275 lbs

I was just gonna suggest the Zeppelin Bend but you beat me to it. It's one of my favorite knots. You could even throw an overhand knot is the loose ends if you were worried it could slip. But I find it a very stable knot.

But I would more than likely only use a zepp. bend if I couldn't splice the line, but Amsteel is easy so I'd prolly splice it.
    Good luck,
