Not taken as a contest! These reports are extremely valuable to all of us making gear buying / making decisions on what is needed and what works best, as well as, techniques to survive the elements. Thanks once again!

Thanks for the reports Jeff!! Have you had similar condensation problems at lowers temps? With the sock, that is.

A good and chilly briefing JustJeff.
Know that you have been having a craving for sub 0º......
When I used a sock it was warm but all the condensation I put out kinda scared me off.
Glad it is working for you with only a smidge.

I've used the sock in lots of conditions ranging from subzero to just above freezing. At single digits, you're gonna have to deal with increased condensation no matter what you're using and the sock is no exception. Right around freezing, the only time I've had a condensation problem was when a freezing fog came thru at Mt Rogers, and Joker and I were both in the same hammock...lots of breath in an already humid condition.

Other than that, I don't remember any real problems with condensation for me.

RustyNails - not videotaping. I was going to take some, but it's hard to get a good shot from inside the sock, and I really didn't feel like standing around in subzero weather. I do plan on getting some video of the sock at some point, though.

A little disappointed. The low for tonight was supposed to be -11F so I was gonna test again...but this morning the forecast has changed to only -4F. I still might sleep out, though...depends on what I feel like at bedtime.

So Jeff I have been thinking about ventilation in your sock. What if you placed a couple of Burka type Skeeter net holes (one top & one bottom) to give a slight amount of venting?

That would help some. Not sure how big they'd have to be for it to be effective below freezing, though...even bug nets get frosty when it's cold!
