Thought I'd respond to UncleMJM here instead of hijacking the other thread.

Welcome Maestrobranson and mwig50. Hammock Forums is a great place to learn and "hang".

There is a growing community of great folks in Texas, (Ok, Ark, and La too) that sometimes find ways to hang together so keep your eyes open for various group hangs. They are excellent places to learn and a lot of fun. We have one big one each year in November (planning usually starts on a 100 degree July or August day) and folks frequently post others throughout the year.

Look forward to seeing you in the trees sometime.

Thanks for the info Uncle! I am brand new to hammocks, just bought my very first one about two weeks ago. I blame Shug for it, I have watched his video's for months now and it looks so danged fun! The last time I was in a hammock, it was summer of 1981 and I spent a week at my grandmothers in La, the hammock was my bed. Great forums, thanks for having me along!
