Yeah that is my plan. Its still a work in progress but I want to give it a go at the CBS hang. I'll probably use a blue poly 10x12 in winter mode to sleep in to block some wind and retain heat though.

I have a similar 9x12 tyvek tarp. I didn't think to try cat cut though. I left mine rectangular so I could easily fold in the ends for doors in winter/heavy rain. That looks really well done. I've had similar issues with grommets pulling out under high stress. I'd like to play around with taping on some tyvek loops to see if they'll hold better.

Nice looking tarp. Reinforce the edges and make loops on the ends instead of grommets. My work tarps usually fail at some point the grommets driving down the road.
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.

    No grommets

I have a Tyvek tarp/emergency shelter and found a fastener system using no grommetts. In principle it is similar to the wrapped in stone and guy loop method, except a plastic fastner is used. These weigh ca. 1/2 oz each. You could swing on these and the Tyvek will not rip.

BTW, I would hang my tarp with Dupont on the inside, water
proofness is bilateral, and one does not look quite so trailer trash!

    p.s. here's a better picture and explanation:

I use tyvek for my tarp, but i use rocks at my tie points. I place the rock on the tyvek surface and cinch knot some mason line around it. This replaces your grommets. Tyvek is very suitable in wind, but does not have great pulling strength when its integrity is disturbed.

Replace the stones with wooden beads and you'll save a few grams!

looks like you could make those with a grommet and some tyvek tape you could even carry a few spares for repairs. not a bad idea
