    Happy New Year

    Hi Medicine Man:

Happy New Year. Since you are on the AT, just start walking, follow those white blazes north, I'll see you in about 3 1/2 months. Sunny up here in MA, high today supposed to get up to 45! Rain tonight and then the cold front will move through and temps return to seasonal. 22" of snow last Monday.

i'm just finishing up phase one on that garage/guest house project that pulled me off the trail last July so I will be able to get out more.

Met one SoBo finishing up his quest...he began at Mt. K about 4.5 months ago.
Another two were beginning their thru-hike NoBo this morning.
Also saw Marta, saw here on my prep hike on the Roan before my trek in Vermont in October-she thru'ed in '07 and will be a presenter at the SoRuck in 2 weeks.
And as alluded to in my original post we have a fallen brother....so sad to see someone evolve to hang upon high, then see him groveling like a dog, a worm even, getting in and out of a tent! But CoolDays is still our brother.
M.Bird, it was never my dream to plod the AT for months on end but I took that as an invitation-but it is I who owe you my friend!
Yes a PeaPod that has been pimped! That is certainly one way to put it. Thanks again to BillyBob for suggesting the mating of the PP with the Traveler--it truly is wonderful having the PP drape on you without that huge air gap. I still filled in with the Stealth No Sniveler and that is a wonderful combination.
Peanuts, it seems like every time I'm on Springer the weather is the same with wind and rain but this time no ice coating everything like last year.
Bradley, I don't know...I think I'd give an eye tooth to be where you are!
PoppaBear...this has been a longstanding tradition for AT hikers and to me it beets being in a bar.
RunningFeather--sorry no pics and the vid sucked...just wasn't weather or good timing (arriving a couple hours past sundown) to get anything good.
Back to the SuperPod and the pending Higher Colder Hang on Roan Mountain- my current plan is to combine the SuperPod with a 3sCrowsnest and on the inside augment with a Winter Mamba....I'll still be chilly but I will live
