The first hammock I used was a WWII Canadian Navy Hammock

This was a six foot long canvas hammock .
The Navy Hammock had sixteen eyelets at each end .
The suspension system was 8 nettles larks headed to a steel ring .
This gives you the lines to tie to the eyelets .
A lanyard was eye sliced to the steel ring . This Lanyard was passed over the Hammock bar returning through the steel ring & tied around the nettles .
The hammock had spreader bars at the head & foot
This Hammock was used on my Dad's Frigate in WWII .

I now have a Hennessy Explorer & a MacCat tarp on order .

    Welcome to the club.
    I ride a recumbent.
I like to HAM it up on the CW.
    I use Linux.
    I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!

    Welcome Kilts

I will agree with Bradley seems like you've jumped right into the lightweight gear with both feet.

Post a picture of your MacCat and your Hammock when you get them. Bonus points are awarded with hammock shots showing snow in them.

    Cheers

    Brian
