    DIY Nacrabiners.

    Hey all,

Just wanted to share the results of my DIY nacrabiner project. As allways pictures or it didn't happen!

Think they cane out pretty good.

Here is a picture of an open 'biner:

This is the top section (loop to capture the knot), I buried the rest of the line up to the knot for looks:

This is the lanyard(Diamond) knot I used:

This is the whole Nacrabiner closed:

Well now that its posted I feel better.

Look'n good. Just curious, what will you use them on. (I know what they are and how they work etc. etc., I just wonder specifically what you'll use them for, what reg. biner will it replace.) Again, nice work.
    Good luck,

Not too sure yet. I'm not quite ready to hang off em'. I might do so eventually, but I don't trust em yet. I did manage to pick my whole body weight up using them, so for now I'll be hanging gear, but in the future who knows.

I was thinking of doing some smaller Zing it ones, and making prusics for my tarp lines (like Opie does).

Great job on those. UncleMJM gave me one a few weeks back. I'm going to use it to secure the foot end of my AHE XL New River UQ up over my WBBB ridgeline.

Its a lanyard knot, otherwise known as a diamond knot.

You can hang from them. I trust both amsteel and dynaglide nacrabiners for this.

Thanks WV, good to know. I may have to try this out in the basement. But I think I'm still going to put the couch cushions under me.

P.S. Anyone brave enough to substitute the Chainlinks on their hammock ends with extralarge Nacrabiners?
