Underquilt for Florida?

Last year I camped in Florida during late spring. The daytime highs were in the mid 90s. The lows were in the high 60s and low 70s. I used eno double nest with a bug net and I was still chilly at night. So I'm looking for a light weight synthetic underquilt that will be good for the humidity of Florida. I was hoping you guys would have some ideas for me.

I'm also looking for something like a synthetic sheet to add a little warmth at night.

the nest from jacks r better would be a nice lite option for an under quilt.

I'm a warm sleeper, so unless its getting below 50* I just use a ccf pad.

Recently purchased a Hammock-Gear 3 Season Phoenix, but it's for the cold nights with me.

May I make a suggestion here?

Try an Adventure Medical 2P Heetsheet first. It won't cost anywhere close to what a quilt does. If it doesn't work out for you (odds are it will, especially at those temps) then go ahead and spend a whopping $279.00 (introductory price of course) just to knock the chill off in 60-70 degree temps.

Forgive me for saying so and this is just my outlook on it, but it just seems a bit ridiculous to spend that kind of money for those temps. I've hammocked in far colder temps than that with a simple 2P HeetSheet and a good down bag. I know it isn’t as cool looking and doesn’t roll of the tongue quit as smoothly, but at a cost of $5.00 to $15.00 verses $279.00 (introductory price of course), what do you have to lose?

May not be popular, but it sure seems smart.

I used mine for at least 2 years before replacing it (no damage at all, my friend uses it now)...I'd say that's pretty darn good friend!

Even if you bought one a year for 20 years, (at $15 each x 20 $300 for arguments sake) it’s a wiser choice, because even as good as the quality of those quilt’s are (so I’ve read), you’d be hard pressed to get that $300 quilt (non-introductory price) to last anywhere near that long.

No offense meant, just food for thought.

For summer use up north I purchased a Molly Mac Universal IX UQ. It's 8 ounces and good down to about 55F for me.
Being synthetic it should work well with your humid weather.

I live in Florida, but only camp in front of the A/C at those temps. For a bit lower temps, I made DIY under quilt with only 3 ounces of 900 FP down with sewn thru construction (no baffles). It weighs 10 ounces, including suspension, in the stuff sack. Compresses to the size of a small cantelope. Yet, it got me down to the upper 30's about a month ago - I was shocked.

Hey GreenLizard, thanks for the suggestion. This is exactly what I've been looking for. I am going to couple this with my BA down bad and air core pad. Up until this post I was going to try a Thermarest Ridge Rest Solar Sleeping Pad. The Therma lite bivy should do the trick. Thanks again.
