    baffle design height for underquilt.

Can someone tell me this number? I just need the height as sewn in. I can figure the selvage (I will add two inches). i.e. if i want 2 1/2 loft, cut panels 4 1/2 inches. I think I read 1 inch less than desired loft. By intuition, I would have guessed equal to desired loft.

One other detail: with the lower panel lots bigger then the top panel to allow for curvature without compressing the down, How do you handle the detail at the outside perimeter seam? I'm thinking a fold in the seam.

    Thanks in advance.

thanks MADD. That's a nice write up you did.

I also checked my Kelty Kilo sleeping bag. It's supposed to have 2 1/2 loft and the baffles measure 1 1/2 inch, seam to seam.

I'm running my baffles across rather than lengthwise like yours. I decided to imitate the JRB Mt. Washington (as close as I can from a picture)

    Anyway, I appreciate the help
