    RV sites

Smokehouse thanks for the info on the RV sites. I looked at their website and will do some further research. Do you know how the roads are to that site as opposed to going to Table Rock Lake near Bransion. I'm not sure that I want to do a lot of the Ozark curves with a fifth wheel in tow.

WB, LostValley said that 'CenterPoint Horse Camp' was 3 miles from their site, so I'm guessing the roads will be up and down with lots of curves... I have not been to CP Horse Camp site, but I have been to Table Rock lake and Table Rock is easier to get to and the ladies would have more to do their then at Horse Camp I'm guessing.

    Welcome to the hang.
The dates are March 11-13 at Kyles Landing on the Buffalo river.

Besides kayaking, will anyone be doing any fishing?

What kind of fishing are you looking to do Alan? I have never fished on the Buffalo before, I will do some checking to see what kind of fish are in the river. I used to float on the Buffalo when I was younger. I know there are no trout in the Buffalo. Does anyone have a list things needed for the hang, i.e. firewood, food, etc....

Ah ha. That sort of gives me the answer. Was hoping to do a bit of trout fishing but that's kind of hard to do if there aren't any trout!
Guess I'll just leave the fishing gear at home...

Alan, the most common fish is the small mouth Bass. The better fishing is the lower part of the Buffalo. The Buffalo dumps into the White River and that's where the trout are... And lots of them...
I'm going to take a fly rod whether I use it or not.

Welcome arkarcher, glad u can make it...

Roger that. I'll have my Tenkara rod by then so I'll just toss it in the truck.

I've floated and fished the Buffalo for 10 years now, and the others are right. The trout are in white river and somewhat in the mouth of the buffalo, but they're all stockers. Local ecologists have determined that the trout aren't able to reproduce in the river due to the constantly changing water levels (they run different numbers of generators on the dam based on electricity needs and time of day).

If you like smallmouth, goggleeye, and bluegill there's plenty of them in the river, but I'll admit I've never fished that far up. I usually put in at Rush (last public access to the river) and float down to White river. I've always had trouble flyfishing the buffalo unless I was in a boat, but then again I'm not very good at it anyway. I've always had the best luck on brightly colored rooster tails and panther martins.

    I'll be bringing my pole!
