Yeti if you want to save a little weight and pack space... Phoenix if you dont care about those things. Either one is awesome and live up to the specs of the vendor.
Got my 3 season yeti down to 27*F this fall (before Brandon started adding 1oz extra down in the items). My yeti totals 11.6oz with the stuff sack.

I have a winter and summer Phoenix (the winter for a little over the year and the summer for about 6-8 months) and cant speak highly enough of these two quilts.
Being 6' and broad shoulders the Phoenix was an easy choice for me being longer and wider. It does a great job covering up half way down my calf and wrapping a good 1" past my shoulders. That may not seem like a lot but it really is. Keep cold drafts out. The draw strings on the end are very easy to use all you have to do is cinch them up. I have never had a problem with draft getting in from either end of my WBBB when hangin my Phoenix. The only time I get CBS is when I don't pull the channel cords tight enough against my hammock in fear of being to HOT. Storm Crow does include a very lengthy draw string channel shock cord to accommodate even the longest hammocks. A section of this can easily be removed or what I did was just leave the shock cord and tie a knot to shorten it up and place that knot around the end of my hammock. This is not a big deal at all and actually allows you go hang the quilt as low or as tight against the hammock as you like it. The 900 vs 800 fill is a personnel preference. Do you want to save weight use less 900 fill then 800 fill achieving the same warmth. Or do you want to use an ounce or two more of 900 fill achieving more warmth. I took my winter Phoenix out this past week (low temp of 19) which has 13 oz 800 fill and kept me so warm that I decided to get a 3 season incubator.. So it really all depends on what temps your looking at. You could always get the 3 season Phoenix with the standard fill or one ounce overfill and that will boost the temp rating but also may make it to warm but that a personnel decision. IMHO you should just get a summer, 3S and winter phoenix to cover your basis

I am 5'9" and I sleep very, very warm, almost hot and I have taken the Phoenix(crowsnest) below it's rating, now also mind you that mine has 2oz overstuff 900 fill!
The question to ask is are you a warm sleeper, cold sleeper, or hot sleeper like me? Reason being is I can hike into October with my Summer Phoenix and Summer Burrow, supplement with my clothes and get too 32*!
Do you roll around/move around in your sleep? I do and I have found no cold drafts coming in as I always stay within the UQ, now if I were in a Yeti, I don't know I might get some cold spots, but I have never tried one out!
Many, many hangers on here use a Yeti, one big name user is Shug and he uses his for winter, check out his vids and it will give you a very good size of the UQ!
I like the ability to customize my quilts with Adam and Jenny as you can choose the color of the fabric you want from the list he has, you also have the choice of fill, 800 or 900! To me I liked that, I would really love to get a Yeti and give it a run, but I don't have the money!

Also Raul makes a great point, about weight! If you are trying to go as light as you can the Yeti might work!
But I will say you could also give Adam a call and see if he has the time to do something custom and make a smaller Phoenix!?!?

There's no reason to go 'custom' when a quilt in the dimensions you want might available from Warbonnet, or Te-Wa, or JRB's MW3C, etc.
There's a lot of Hammock Gear recommendations in this thread, but any one of the quilt vendors on this forum produce a fabulous product that will work just as well. That's not a slight against HG...just a reminder that we have a bunch of other excellent product choices that shouldn't be overlooked.

if a person wants to have a custom quilt made it is up to them. Doesn't matter if it is the same size as another quilt made by a different manufacturer. The buyer may prefer this brand over the others.

There are many UQ manufacturers providing off-the-shelf UQ's as well as custom gear, it's a good idea take a look around and see what's out there before you settle on one or two brands.

I did have the opportunity recently to see some of Hammock Gear's quilts and can't find anything to say bad about them. Started a new savings account though, if that tells you anything.
I've seen the Te-was, but don't have any experience with them. I know of at least one long time hanger that I respect that swears by the Te-wa quilts; that's enough for me.
The Jacks don't make junk gear and their convertible Mount Washington quilts are, I'm sure, of their normally excellent quality found in their other quilts.
I agree with the others that we don't have a bad quilt maker in the bunch. This list isn't complete either, there are always quilt offerings to be found; some homemade as a hobby and others are new vendors getting their feet under them. But I'll tell you this, inferior products don't last long on this site (search for ENO tarps if you don't believe me).
Ordering a quilt from any of our shops will result in a happy camper more often than not. I suggest really thinking about what's important to you from your quilt and make your decision based on that. Once you've made up your mind, then start tweaking the custom thoughts. Odds are, you won't need to customize anything anyway. Good luck on the quest!
