2010-12-30 Sipsey Trip

Hi, all! Treefrog and I headed out for a 3 day, 2 night adventure in the Sipsey Wilderness area. We parked at Thompson trailhead and headed in to an off-trail campsite where we could set up a base camp. We used our DIY hammocks, tarps and UQs and - for the first two days - everything was pretty normal, UNTIL: almost 4.5 inches of rain fell overnight. We were camped on high ground, but alot of the trail heading back to my truck was under water.
Sorry I didn't get pics of our setups or much of the flood water. We were just glad to get back out of there safe. Overall a good trip.

Nice video! Thanks for that. I was at Sipsey in early November and it was very dry. Nice to see the waterworks in action!

We went there back in October, it was dry as a bone, glad to see some water!
