The May 6-8 SEHHA hang is still a go. Ed and I apologize for not having the time to update the forum before today but, as you can probably guess by the fact that I am typing this post, Ed has been swamped with work.
Ed will be in Hot Springs at about 12pm on Friday and looks forward to seeing you all. We will not be organizing a communal breakfast on Saturday but if anyone else wants to do it, that's fine. We also will not be having a silent auction but we will definitely still be having the traditional Speer Hammocks sponsored Hot Dog cookout Saturday evening. We will bring the firewood for the campfire as well as the large canopy which we will be setting up Friday afternoon.
If you have any specific questions, please feel free to email Ed at [email protected] or call him at 828-724-4444. Thanks, and we're looking forward to a wonderful relaxing weekend!

I have my hands full with organizing the paddle trip. So if someone will step up I'll bring some eggs!

The stars are seeming to align and I am planning on coming up for my first group hang. I will not be able to leave until Saturday morning so I will not be able to make the river paddle trip but I am lookig forward to meeting all of you there. I am really looking forward to learning all I can. I will be coming up with my new Incubator Summer underquilt from Hammock Gear. Adam worked really hard getting mine finished for this trip. I really want to thank him. What a great company to work with.
No silent auction? I always look forward to that! Do you mind if we have one anyway? I can bring the sheets, and I was planning on bringing a few things to donate. I think I can organize that.
How about we post here what we're donating?
A set of whoopie slings, a hieneken keg, aluminum Bud bottle, few other odds and ends.

So far there are 6 hangers signed up for the paddle and there are twice that many APE members coming. Some are hitting the upper section and some are coming with us.

Please remember to dress for cold water. No cotton please. Neoprene is good. So are spray jackets or a good rain jacket & pants with Capiline, polypro or wool under it. Pack a lunch to eat on the river and bring plenty of water.
Mandatory requirements are:
PFD
Helmets
And any children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Hey, We're going rain or shine so be prepared...I know you will, we're hangers!

Hey guys- new to the forums but been a long time hammocker. I'm glad I found out about this hang, been really looking forward to it. Its good to know there are others out there that are as nuts about hammocks as I am.
Well, I spoke with Ed this afternoon, and he's fine with us having a silent auction. So it's ON! Bring all your stuff that's gathering dust and help raise money for the Send-PF-To-New-Zealand-Fund....
Or more accurately known as The-Give-Back-To-Hammock-Forums-Fund.
I guess we'll have it after the hot dog supper Saturday evening? Not sure when that is exactly, but how about we aim for, say, 6-7PM? I'll bring the sheets, and we'll just play it by ear..
Oh, and LDCakes, I may be bringing another paddler, she's working on acquiring a kayak this evening, so I'll make sure she brings a helmet and PFD. And a paddle.
