    Caldera cone case???

I know this may not be the place but I was wondering if any of you DIYer's have made a case for a DIY Caldera
Cone? I made one from 2Q's youtube vid, but now need a lightweight solution for carrying one. Has anybody here come up with a solution for my problem??

    thanks

I used one of those long thin quart Smartwater bottles. I just cut it to length, doubled as a cup, water scoop....

I just made a cone last weekend and had the same question.
    That's a good idea.

    Thanks

I can't wrap mine around anything cylindrical or the "hooks" at each end (for lack of a better term) will crimp/bend. I always take a blue pad that I use for sitting on and for extra insulation in the hammock, and when on the move I put it inside my pack around the outer perimeter to function as a sort of frame for my pack. I find that my "unhooked" caldera cones slide fairly easily between pack bag and pad and are very safe there and inconspicuous. In fact, it pretty much takes up zero space in my pack. My solution works pretty well and keeps it safe--if I remember that it's there when unpacking!

I think anti gravity gear sells just the caddy. Not sure how much but if you insulate both sides you get a cup and a bowl.

Great ideas! I think I am going try the smart bottle idea. I tried the ziplock container but it is a little bulky and doesn't work with my "current" kitchen set. Thanks for the responses.

I use the big jetboil pot as my main pot and adjusted my cone's side wall height so that it will fit inside the pot rolled up and laid on its side. In a loose coil it takes up a lot of room I could be using for other things.

I fixed this with one of the thin velcro straps you see sold to organize cables. Its got a LOT of hold and I'm able to wind the cone into something about as big as a C battery at the narrow end and a D battery at the wider end.

There's enough space inside I think for an alky bottle and I now have enough space inside the pot for various other kitchen sundries I've been keeping in their own lock'n'lock container.

hmm since my cone and calipers are right here...
The rolled cone is 5.8" tall
    1.86" at the base
    1.33 at the top.

The strap is virtually weightless and since I'm using it on something with potentially sharp edges I tucked an extra into my repair kit.
