Excellent job. The hipbelt pockets are great. Looks tough as nails. I always get a sense of pride when I show off my gear and I bet you will be beaming showing off this one.

Awesome work. I've got the materials and plans to make a G4 but haven't worked up the nerve to start cutting yet. Been making quilts instead. Almost full of quilts, so the pack will come soon.

The more I look at the photos the more I impressed with your sewing and detail. I've never seen Xpac or know about it.
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.
Hey Chris! What a nice first post -- welcome to hf!
That's a very beautiful piece of work! Please don't forget to tell us about your first trip with this beauty!
Makes me want to sew my own backpack too !!!
great job. The stitching looks like you've done this before. 2 thumbs up
Wow Zepp!
This is your first DIY project? Holy Moly!
That's a beautiful pack. I've been putting off trying a pack due to the complexity. Your workmanship and attention to detail are phenomenal. It really does look like something you would buy at REI.
You've inspired me to try a pack. Thanks for the great photos too.
Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
Life is hard? Compared to what?
Wow... now I am intimidated. I ran across this thread looking for information on DIY packs. I have an older external frame pack I am thinking about upgrading.... now I am not so sure I can match what you have done here... it is freaking AWESOME.... NICE WORK

Beautiful work! Are you sure you didn't buy that? Great idea the PAL loops on the shoulder straps, and, the hip pockets look perfect. What kind of a sewing machine do you have to sew those thickness' of material?
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
