Due to a 3-way trade transaction, I was able to obtain some really AWESOME nacrabiners from PapaSmurf.
I was in the market for some 7/64" nacrabiners and Randy came through in a big way. Here's a picture. The quarter is for scale.
The top nacrabiner shows to be totally closed. However, Randy uses an ingenious solution to prevent the end from collapsing in on itself. It's hard to see in the picture, but in the loop, he uses a clear plastic necklace bead.
I'm no knot expert, but I'm pretty sure that's the diamond knot at the end. The 2 ends are tucked into each other but I'm not quite sure what he did to keep the ends from fraying. Looks like it was burnt and/or a touch of superglue maybe.
These nacrabiners are top-notch and they work perfectly!
Randy - I can't thank you enough for your time and willingness to trade gear.
