    Alpacka adventure in Scandinavia ?

We have a suggestion for a date !

2 June - 6 June (plus - minus days here and there).

The advantage with this date is that (at least for Swedes):
Tursday 2 June is RED (Kristi Himmelsfärd)
    And
Monday 6 June is RED (Nationaldagen).

Very close to my date last year

RED days in Sweden is noneworking holidays, if you got the right job.

    Ehh, Rogens is it ?

If it is, i would really appreciate if we could skip my last 2km hike over the border to Norway.

I developed an allergy to boulders on my last visit

    --------------------------------------------------------------

    2 June - 6 June ?

    Participants
    • Moski Alpaca
    • Bieggolmai Yak

    Boats

    Alpaca
    Yak
    Denali Llama

    Maybe
    • Joz

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, lets see how this goes ?
We in Scandinavia seams to be under "The danish viking pharaohs clairvoyance curse".

Which means that any Thread starter fails to show up.

After i published the Rogens naturreservat 2010-06-05 trip report, people got in touch with me about doing something similar.

    So, what do you think?

Alpacka boats are packrafts, which means:
you hike and stumbles on to water, you inflate your packraft and strap the backpack to the bow and paddles over

It doesn't have to be Rogens at all.
It can be anywhere in Scandinavia.

We, who attend SKAHOw will discuss this there by the fire

My family has a small cabin in Vemhån (Close to Vemdalen, Björnrike) that we could use as Basecamp.
The river Veman is passing the cabin and i might do that with my father this spring.
And we have Ljusnan close by, that goes from Funäsdalen down passing Sveg,
i actually think you could go all the way to the Gulf of Bothnia ?

This a great info source on waters http://www.kanotguiden.se/index.htm

Avanza here in Stockholm rents out Alpackas for 500SEK/Week.
So i could rent the boats and drive them to ??.

I will talk with Per about how many boats he can rent out and how
    it generally works with insurances.

How good service do you get at Avanza?
Let me just say , i asked and got a reply within 32 min

    Per said:
För uthyrning har jag tre båtar en för
varje modell (Alpaca, Yukon Yak och Denali Llama). Har även en motsvarande
lättviktsbåt från Feathercraft. BayLee I som väger 3,4 kg.

each model (Alpaca, Yak and Yukon Denali Llama). It even has a corresponding
rowing from Feather Craft. Baylee In weighing 3.4 kg.
So, who will get the boats ?
    Only three available guys !

Bieggolmai mention this in the SKAHOw thread:

    Could be an expensive trip.....
Have to check if I have a canoe-rental-insurance before I rent one of those.
Don´t want to paddle around in one of those being scared of destroying 10500SEK. Would probably destroy the fun.
But they say that they can take a lot of punishment. Is that true, moski?
We are going to look into this insurance thingy, i think there is a good chance that you are covered by your Home insurance.

    Here Per said:
Beträffande försäkring kan det vara bra att rådfråga
respektive försäkringsbolag då villkoren är olika. Dessutom finns det olika tillägg, som man kan teckna.
    Translated by Google:
Regarding insurance, you may want to consult
the insurance company when the conditions are different. In addition, there are different Completion, which you can subscribe.

    Criteria:
    • Scandinavia
    • Waters (small lakes, or rivers).
    • NO WHITE WATER (since we don't have that experience)
    • Fairly easy to get to.

    Count me in!
I don´t want to miss this oppurtunity.
As I´m 178cm tall I think I need the Yak.

But it all depends on when this will happen.

    Yak to Bieggolmai then

Only a Alpaca and a Denali Llama left then !

I like the idea. But I need a when and where to say for sure. My work schedule will be somewhat less flexible this upcoming year, as I'm climbing the corporate ladder. Keep us posted.
