i thought the rule with prussic knots is the line creating the prussic should be a smaller diameter than the line it's trying to bit down on, is this rule moot when you do a triple wrap than the normal double?

The standard prussic knot is three wraps and your rule of thumb with the size of the prussic line being smaller is also correct (at least from a rock climbing point of view). In some applications, using the same size line for the prussic loop and the main line is beneficial in that it will slip beyond a certain force. Tarp guylines come to mind immediately.
For my tarp continuous ridgeline, I use 2.2mm zing it and have 1.75mm lash-it for the prussic loops for the tarp attachments.
Cheers

UPDATE
The 40 degree tarp angle survived 10" of snow last night.
The snow would build up to about 1" and slide off, no tapping required. Yea!
The only down side is there is not much room under the trap for standing at this angle. Sitting in the hammock
to perform work or cooking was good. IMO this OES Delux tarp is about the smallest
I would want to take on a true winter hang with snow.
Get some grip clips from JRB and add some side tie-outs as mentioned elsewhere in this thread. That will give you more room and the sides wont sag so much like that. If you don't wanna buy grip clips, use the ear plug/rock/marble method.
I wonder how a pole mod would affect the snow shedding ability of the tarp?
As was mentioned earlier if you want more holding power and dont mind a little more risk to your tarp fabric, try out a klemheist knot or a penberthy prussik.

Hi Chris, I'm sure that will add room but I am worried a makeshift tie-out might damage my tarp.Get some grip clips from JRB and add some side tie-outs- ChrisH
My plan for now is use the porch mode for cooking and general hanging then when it's bed time drop the angle on the porch side.
Thanks for the link that looks like a fun knot to play with. I'll give this knot a try.
Looks like TeeDee has no issue with same size line on his slip knot, which is good, since I only own 1/8".
