Question Toggle at tree for continuous ridge line

For those of you using a continuous ridge line, how is your toggle that creates the fixed loop around the first tree attached?

Do you use a marlin spike hitch? Do you use a prusik or klemheist style attachment? Do you use some other kind of attachment/knot?

I currently use a marlin spike hitch but I don't like this method. I am thinking of switching to a klemheist knot style attachment because it's easier to adjust.

What do you all use? What do the more experiences hangers and users of the continuous ridgeline have to say?

Is this a tarp ridge we're talking about ? If so I don't use a toggle (but you've got me thinking now), I just use an evenk slippery hitch at the first tree and then a truckers hitch at the second tree.

On the non adjustable end I just have a bowline and a mini biner.

I have a small (keychain size ~2") carabiner on the tarp ridge line. This is my first connection to the tree. I spliced in a closed eye on that end, clipped in the 'biner to that eye. That 'biner then can be attached to the outside of my tarp stuff sack for easy locating during the next set up.

If the biner would happen to break during high winds, I could add a marlin. But I've had it out in 50 mph winds and its held fine.

humm, a biner, I don't know why that never came to mind considering I use them on my webbing for my hammock.

I might have to go do some field study today with biners and toggles.

If anyone else uses another method, please feel free to share.

I use an s-biner on the fixed end, and a figure 9 on the other end. Fast, easy, light, and as PS put it, gloveable.

I'm not sure what it's called, but I'd have either a fixed loop or bowline at the end, wrap the tree, push the loop over the standing portion, and insert the toggle.
