I use Dutch Clips but still take the adjustable webbing off every time as I don't want any sap getting on my hammock. I pack the straps separately in a small stuff sack. I should probably just put the straps through themselves and ditch the clips to save for the weight of the separate stuff sack, but I don't mind the extra ~0.5 - 1.0 oz the stuff sack costs me and it saves me 20 seconds not having the put the straps through themselves.
Love having options.

Whoopies are good to save on a little weight and bulk. IMO webbing and cinch buckles are a little less fiddly.Originally Posted by Law Dawg

People have done the math and you save something like ~2-3 oz by using whoopies over the webbing, so I think it really boils down to preference.

plus you really should still be carrying webbing tree huggers as well as the whoopies, to protect the tree, but mostly to keep hammocking's Leave No Trace (LNT) credentials.

Since my mega 22KN biners weigh almost nothing, I was thinking he may be looking at grams. I have the webbing and love the simple of it...the biners make it more so IMO.
