    Hi dejoha,

I did indeed mean allowing those fortunate to have grown up with the metric system to enter the data in metric

Many thanks for taking my comment on board

    Cheers,

    Jason.

Should it be a toggle switch between english/metric?

I had to get some real programming help to get the hammock hang calculator fixed, but I think v3 is ready to launch!

Thanks to all those who helped!

Just assuming that Ridgeline and Preferred Sit Height always stay the same for a given user, I have one suggestion.

Output a small table that lists Tree Distance, (Maybe in 6 inch increments?) and the Tieoff Height for that combination of values.

Someone could print that off as a small card, and laminate it / Use Packing Tape and throw it in their bag.

That way the person would be ready for any distance between trees they come across, without internet access.

Nice idea CubmasterTony. I was musing on the irony that the calculator is most useful out at a site, where there is least likely to be internet access. A little tree-distance/suspension height table would solve almost all of that.

    This should be stickied!!!

Now we need one that will tell us how far apart to put the hooks on a ceiling, depending on the height of the ceiling.

there's an app for android that perhaps meets your specs. As a noob to hanging i wouldnt know if it does or doesnt. Shrugs

If nothing else it should be considered a "competitive product" to yours. It is avail in google play (what was google market). name: XClinometer (+bubble level) , and yes it has a protractor view when phone is set on edge.

i'ave had it , as a free app, for quite a while, but never really had a use for it til now

    linkie to it and others:

That is simple, use the side measurements for your ceiling height. For example if you read the chart below you see if your ceiling is 8ft (2.44m) you would hang it 26.24ft (8m) apart.

It's only my first attempt but, it appears that I'm too dense.
