is anyone out there using an ix top quilt?
I am thinking of making a few... for me and the boys.
I was thinking about 3 layers ix and maybe a fleece or flannel inner layer?
what do you think?

I made a double layer IX top quilt and I am VERY dissatisfied with it. It does not keep me warm even in the 50's and it makes me sweat at warmer temps.
I was careful to make ridges inside both layers about 4" spacing to hold the layers apart to trap air. I have heard the same complaints from others who have attempted IX top quilts.
I would suggest that you reserve the IX for bottom quilts only, but as always, HYOH.

I've used IX as a layer in a down top quilt, and as a layer in a top quilt with thermoflect, and never had any condensation issues. In fact, I use IX in just about everything possible. But, up here it is always around 50 degrees at night, or less, even in the summer.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
I made a TQ with 2 layers of IX and a layer of primaloft in between. I've had it down to the upper 40's with no complaints.
