    Hello

Hi, my husband and I have been tent backpackers for many years. I have been researching hammocks for camping as I HATE sleeping on the ground. I lost a lot of weight and now side sleeping in a tent is unbearable to me - my hip just grinds into the ground.

I am so glad I found the instructions on how to make a hammock. I am a DIY person and I can't wait to make my own hammock and use it this spring. This forum is awesome, thanks to everyone!

Welcome to the forum! I too am a side sleeper and got tired of not sleeping. A night goes like this, sleep on 1 side till it hurt like h**l, roll over to the other side, sleep till it hurts like h**l, turn over, repeat, ALL NIGHT. Wasn't much sleep.

Honestly, I would say just jump into it. My hammock doesn't have a straight stitch on it, but it gets the job done well. Go for it and you will learn for when you want to make the cadillac of your DIYs. Mine couldn't have taken me more than 2 hours. GO FOR IT!

    Welcome to the forums
When you discard arrogance, complexity, and a few other things that get in the way, sooner or later you will discover that simple, childlike, and mysterious secret known to those of the Uncarved Block: Life is Fun.
