I use a piece of material my dad used to use under his tent (It also played time as a ground cloth for the rope when we rock climbed) its about 8x6 and i fold it in half so its 4x6. I set my duffel and shoes on there when i sleep it folds up small enough to pack if I needed to.
Not sure of the cloth though it smells like cat pee if that is any help (Never been near the cat by the way)

I live in the Big Easy at the moment
I don't use a ground cloth. I guess I never saw the need. I can see the use if you need to go to the ground, but I want to move away from carrying a pad and that rules out the ground anyway. I sit on the edge of my hammock and just kick off my boots. I will make a gear hammock too, but for the moment I am just putting my pack on the ground or hanging it on a branch.

I use a dog food bag, cut open and flattened out..same material as dog food.
I meant as Tyvek not dog food
I love those bags. Back when I had a Black Lab and my roomie at the time had a Golden Retriever, we went through Dog food like most of us here go through nylon thread and we would re-use the dog food bags for many uses.

Which reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw some years ago...

I use my ccf sit pad. It's just big enough to stand on to get dressed or undressed on.

I just picked up a 6 mil, "something" feet by "something" feet painters drop cloth at walmart for 86 cents that i'm gonna try. I don't remember the dimensions, but i think it's big enough to get a couple out of it for what i'm looking for.
I previously used a 20 gal trash can liner or nothing at all. Mainly looking for something for snowy or wet conditions.
Most of the time i use my waist belt and sternum strap to strap it to the tree my head end is attached to then put my rain cover on before i climb in the mock.
My tent buddies call my pack a tree hugger. I call them ground pounders, lol.
